Dua for Depression and Overcoming Sadness

Transliteration

Allahumma inni 'abduka ibnu 'abdika ibnu amatika nasiyati biyadika madin fiyya hukmuka 'adlun fiyya qada'uka as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika aw anzaltahu fi kitabika aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indaka an taj'alal-Qurana rabi'a qalbi wa nura sadri wa jala'a huzni wa dhahaba hammi

Translation

O Allah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, son of Your female slave. My forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me prevails, and Your judgment is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You which You named Yourself with, or taught to any of Your creation, or revealed in Your Book, or kept with Yourself in the knowledge of the Unseen, to make the Quran the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, and the remover of my sadness and worry.
