The True Meaning of Strength
Sahih Bukhari · 6114·Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (RA)
لَيْسَ الشَّدِيدُ بِالصُّرَعَةِ، إِنَّمَا الشَّدِيدُ الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ
Transliteration
Laysa ash-shadīdu bis-sur'ah, innamal-shadīdu alladhī yamliku nafsahu 'indal-ghadab
Translation
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one who controls himself while in anger."
